My job is to make it easy for good people to do good work.

That means being clear about what we're trying to accomplish, making sure everyone knows what they own, and setting a high bar without sitting on top of people.

The teams I'm proudest of didn't need a lot of managing. They needed a clear system and someone who'd back them up.

Scale has a way of exposing everything you didn't bother to sort out when the team was small. I'd rather sort it out first.
